Flowers

I was rewatching Lars and The Cool kids and I adore the scene with the blooming moss. It made me think and I thought of this!

Steven would check the area that the moss grew in at least once a month. When the moss had fully grown back, Steven would take it up to its hill and watch it bloom. Looking at the moss makes him feel pretty emotional, similar thoughts pop into his mind every time. He talks to himself sometimes, as if he were talking to Rose.

"Hi Mom, it's Steven, I'm just bringing your moss up to the hill. It's so beautiful when it blooms,"

"The Gems really miss you Mom, Pearl especially. I can tell that she thinks of you often. Garnet and Amethyst miss you a lot too. They are doing their best, but they know it's not the same. I'm doing my best to help them, to try and become a good enough gem to fill your shoes. It's difficult, I've only just learned how to use my shield properly, and I know I still have much more to be taught,"

"Dad misses you like crazy. I hate seeing him sad in that way. I know there's nothing I can do bring you back, but it would sure be nice if I could,"

"We're all kinda scared, Peridot is trying to get Homeworld gems down to Earth. We don't know what they have planned, but it's not good. She has tried to get a gem called Yellow Diamond involved, she sounds pretty scary. I'm worried about that, but I'm also worried about Lapis, she and Jasper are still fused at the bottom of the ocean, but she won't let us help her. I don't want anyone to get hurt by the Homeworld gems, especially Dad and my friends, I have to protect them. Sometimes I feel like I'm not strong enough to do that much, but then I think of you, and how you fought tirelessly for the things that meant most to you. I tell myself that a lot, and it helps to motivate me,"

"I wish you were here with us, I wish that for all of us. Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst, Dad, and me. Even though wishing won't bring you back, it reminds us why we're fighting. You started the fight to protect for this planet, and the crystal gems won't stop until it's safe,"

"Well, I'd better get back to the temple, I'll talk to you soon. I love you, Mom."

Steven would walk down the hill with eyes that were shiny from tears. He'd walk in the direction of the temple with a bitter-sweet feeling swirling in his chest. Behind him, the wind, swirling with the blossoms of the moss, would seem to whisper, "I love you too, Steven,"

;-; I need the little cinnamon roll to meet his mother!! dgabushfeohduahwodsicdshcisdfhiusidoij! I'd think that he'd be unexpectedly emotional meeting her for the first time. Obviously it would be super emotional meeting you're wonderful mother for the first time, but I mean I think he'd get the sudden realization that he has missed her terribly for his whole life. *deep feels sigh*
